Store Profile

Store History

  • Founded: 2010
  • Founded by: Mindy Poston Gay
  • Headquarters: Newburyport, Massachusetts

Mindi Poston Gay calls the store's specialty "vintage mashups" — "chairs which pair modern fabrics with antique and mid century modern furniture." The 2,000 square foot store it its own version of a mashup — it's a former motorcycle repair shop with garage doors, concrete floors, and an industrial aesthetic.

Mindi Poston Gay is a residential architect who's just opened up a new store in Newburyport, Massachusetts. After working for fifteen years on home renovations and additions, she's expanding her business and adding "shopowner" to her list of titles. Her new store includes vintage furniture, custom upholstery, and an art gallery, all under the header of MPG — which (besides her initials) stands for modern, practical, and green design.

The architectural arm of Mindi's business still provides renovation, addition, and interior design services, while the store has a wide variety of vintage furniture as well as an in-house upholsterer.
