Most architecture firms categorize their projects by residential, commercial, academic, etc, and LDa does, too, but they've also got an online feature that allows you to view just their kitchens, baths, and mudrooms. That an architecture firm would be so proud of their mudrooms as to showcase them on their site speaks to the down-to-earth sensibility of their practice. Based in Boston, LDa works with New England homeowners and commercial clients on renovations and new constructions. In their words, their work seeks "a meaningful balance between traditional New England architecture and the unique needs of contemporary living." Sometimes this means designing spaces to meet LEED criteria, other times it involves making a home accessible and ADA-compliant, and — even more frequently — it means creating homes that are easy to maintain and feel comfortable to live in. A few of their projects are shown above; for more photos, click through the links below.
