We've been discussing Peace Industry rugs essentially in passing in our posts for years, but it's been a while since we've featured them exclusively. Well, it's about time we do because the new crop of felt rugs is nothing short of fabulous. And with these rugs, you can rest assured that they will be of top quality and made with sustainability in mind.
Peace Industry owners Melina and Dodd Raissnia also own and operate their own workshop in Iran which allows them to control the manufacturing process they have spent years perfecting. Peace Industry felt rugs are made from 100% lamb's wool and natural dyes. They are hand-made in small batches insuring that each piece is unique and exceptional in quality. They are earth-friendly, chemical-free, and fair trade.
Not only is each rug made to last, but the designs are as well. Designed by Melina, an artist herself, the rugs tend to be graphic, but the colors can range from neutral to bold allowing their rugs to be at home in almost any space.
Beyond just great design, Peace Industry is built around great principles. For Melina and Dodd, their brand has come to represent the growing movement in business to actively seek ways of impacting society and the planet in a positive way. They see this movement as part of the larger global peace movement which is taking on social justice and environmental issues and responding with creative solutions.
