Sssh... keep this on the down low, but over the weekend, we found a truly magical place! Taking a tip from Tyke and Jon, we took a slight sidetrack from a Palm Springs weekend, and headed up Route 62 to Yucca Valley. There we found Route 62 Arts and Antiques. It's an amazing antique store that they call "A Magical Treasure hunt!." At first glance, we assumed it would be a all western-y/country-chic-ish, but we were pleasantly proven wrong. This place is filled with amazing and wonderful random-ness, we could have stayed for hours! With over 6000 square feet of visual goodies to behold, this place is the epitome of what we feel an "antique" store should be.
Owner Dawn Blevins, and the other vendors that sell in the space, have put together a well edited "decorator's paradise." I'm sure there will be a few that will be upset that we've spilled their best kept secret. Seriously folks, there was so much goodness, all at very reasonable prices, we're itching to get back. Next time you're in the Palm Springs area, definitely go up Route 62, and head into Yucca Valley. There are actually several other good antique shops all nestled together, so you could definitely make a nice excursion afternoon of it.
