We are real people, most of whom have an ownership stake in our company. So we care, more than usual, that you are treated well. If you ever happen to call, email or chat with us, you will speak with an actual person who works at Smart Furniture in Chattanooga.

This is one of those "all around" furniture resources we've used before and liked. Smart Furniture is an online catalog that sells the full range of modern desks and task chairs (Herman Miller, Knoll, Blu Dot, etc). The prices are reasonable compared with other retailers, they offer free shipping on select brands, and — this is the reason we've liked using them — they have a real person available by chat or phone that can help with orders at any time.

Based out of Chattanooga, Tennessee, they started out with a focus on modular shelving. Apartment Therapy first discovered them in 2007 because of the store's affordable modular grid shelves. They continue to design and sell their own line of basic shelving (called Smart Shelves) but they've also expanded their inventory to include a lot of higher-end designer brands like Emeco, Steelcase, Gus Modern, LAX, and Humanscale. We see them as an online version of DWR or Hive that's slowly but surely gaining ground in the modern furniture industry.
