Whether you are visiting New York City or live there, the DUMBO section of Brooklyn is a charming area where you could spend the day checking out the stores, having a meal or just checking out the view. The Stewart/Stand Design Store fits right into the area with its brand of chic, playful, and functional home accessories.
Items for the home are carefully selected by the members of this family run business, which started out as a design firm. In 2002, brothers Theo and Paul Stewart-Stand began the company with their own line of stylish men's accessories. With the success of their products and the help of Penelope Mahot (wife of Theo), in 2007, they opened a showroom and quickly expanded to carry other lines as well as their own.
From brightly colored kitchen accessories, including trivets, teapots and timers, to bold wall clocks and whimsical mobiles, all of the items they carry are lovingly chosen with an eye for quality, function and design. From their website:
The Stewart/Stand Design Store has been located in DUMBO Brooklyn since 2007. Featuring a unique mix of local, up-and-coming designers and classic, globally recognized contemporary designs, Stewart/Stand Design Store has an array of gifts and home goods for all budgets and styles.
If you are looking for cheerful home accessories that are as stylish and modern as they are well designed, the Stewart/Stand Design Store, located just steps from the Manhattan bridge, has just what you are looking for. If you can't make it to the store, products are also available on the store's new website.
