Mike Ayers and Raquel Anderson
Mike Ayers and Raquel Anderson, an architect and an interior designer, originally planned to be a one-stop shop for eco-friendly items for the home. When they were unable to find furniture they liked, they decided to design and build their own.
There is something about salvaged wood that makes us swoon. It's where green meets sexy. Like a mysterious and handsome stranger with a past, it is a material that, if could talk, would have amazing stories to tell. And, when it's part of furniture that's beautifully designed, polished with oil and beewax to a soft, inviting glow...well, excuse us if we're a bit weak in the knees. Intrigued? Let us introduce you to Structured Green. The furniture from this company, founded by Mike Ayers, an architect, and Raquel Anderson, an interior designer, is as well-mannered as we'd expect anyone from Savannah, Georgia, where the company is located, to be. It's quiet, strong and elegant. There's something familiar about these designs. While there's the influences of modern, Shaker, traditional and mid-century in the lines of the furniture, it never quite tips over into any one genre thus these pieces will hold their own among many styles. Which just means that while other pieces in your home may come and go, these will stay around for a long time, maybe for a generation, maybe two.
