Brown thumbs rejoice! I will be the first to admit that I don't always have the best of luck with plants, but one kind of plant that somehow "still loves me anyway", are succulents. Besides the the fact they are easy to maintain (ie. don't need much water), they are also beautiful, have amazing colors, sculputural, thrive in our climate, and are a perfect compliment to more modern decor. So, this morning, my attention was immediately caught via Daily Candy's mention of a new store called Succulent.

Succulent is a "flora design firm" that delivers gorgeous potted arrangements. Their mission is to provide a "modern, green-sustainable alternative to floral design by using a variety of succulent plants, in soil, to replace the average cut flower arrangement." Conceived by actress Samantha Mathis and designer Ryann Davis, they use locally grown succulent plants and oraganic soil. The arrangements are all packed in mirrored boxes or modern ceramics. Their paper products are 100% cotton, and they offset their delivery emissions and overall carbon footprint by donating to Carbonfund.org. They also contribute 5% of proceeds to the Green Coast Foundation. Contact Succulent via their website or by phone (310.279.9985) or fax (323.851.8058).
