One of the best parts about investing in reclaimed furniture is finding out where the materials were sourced and knowing the rich history endowed in each object. In staying true to the traditional farm designs from which they finds their woods, Sherman Barnwood Furniture creates rustic pieces for both country and city dwellers alike.
With over 30 years experience working with wood, master craftsman Robert Sherman knows a thing or two about building furniture. After making his own furniture from recycled barnwood in 2001, Sherman officially was in business when orders from friends and family kept pouring in.
Sourcing his woods from reclaimed timber and dismantled barns in Hudson Valley, the materials used to build Sherman’s various pieces date back as far as the early 1800’s. Each of the woods is hand-picked, the furniture is made locally and no synthetic finishing materials are used in the process. The resulting furniture is simple, hearty and sure to add a large dose of character to any room.
