This past weekend, I stepped outside to enjoy one of the year’s first breezy, sun-filled days in New York. I was thrilled and surprised to find the Brooklyn Flea has not only debuted their outdoor market...but that it set up shop right outside my door!

Hailed by The New York Times as "One of the great urban experiences in New York," the Brooklyn Flea is open every weekend of the year and features hundreds of local and regional vendors of antiques, vintage clothing, repurposed furniture, jewelry and arts & crafts by artisanal designers. The acre-wide market is also a hot-spot for local food vendors running the gamut from boutique businesses like People’s Pops, which specializes in delectable gourmet popsicles, to more established names in the food world like Momofuku Milk Bar, which serves up out-of-this-world pastries and flavored milk.

The Brooklyn Flea has gained enormous popularity, not only for the quality of its vendors, but for its curatorial, community based lineup of outstanding local designers and food makers.

Currently, the Brooklyn Flea is open every weekend on Saturdays in Fort Greene and on Sundays in Williamsburg, from 10am to 5pm, “rain or shine.” For directions, a list of vendors, or to get in on the weekly scavenger hunt, visit www.BrooklynFlea.com
