Ben and Kate Gatski are just a couple of farmers/artists living out their sustainable dream in rural Pennsylvania. They established Gatski Metal Designs in 2003 to show off their unique metalwork furniture and decor items made out of recycled farm machinery parts. Now they have an online store, The Steel Fork, where you can buy their metalwork pieces, as well as other crafty farm-friendly items, like this recycled rag rug made out of corduroy parts and cotton yarn.
Prior to Gatski Metal Ben operated an organic dairy business and Kate organized educational events for farmers in sustainable agriculture. Their online store currently has a fairly small selection, but some uniquely handcrafted pieces, like this Recycled Farm Steel Bar Table ($1,495) made out the hood of a recycled Allis Chalmers 160 tractorand, these Handmade Organic Cotton Pig Pillows ($38), or this Pig Butcher Book ($125), also made from recycled farm machinery.
Follow their blog to get updates on new pieces!
