is a California-based online print gallery. They use an 8 color archival ink jet process on heavy stock, and the prints normally range from $14.99 to $44.99.
Artists submit work for consideration, and according to the site, about 1% of the submissions are accepted - it is a very curated group of artists that are involved with the press. Artists retain the rights to their work sold through Thumbtack and 50% of the proceeds from each sale go to the artist. Thumbtack does all of the printing, packaging and shipping of the work to the patrons. Framing options are also available.
Currently on the clipboard, we saw work from Jerimiah Ketner, Rob Dunlavey, Mark Frauenfelder, Paul Ryding (right) and Oksana Badrak (below).
We think there is some really great work available from Thumbtack and the price points make it possible to dress your walls well, support artists and keep growing your collection.
Production and shipping take a while (10 days or so), so if you are planning to use Thumbtack for gifts, be sure to order far enough in advance of the occasion.
