Yankees go to Japan to learn how it is done. With multiple listings last year in H&H and New York Mag, TKNY arrived in Gotham. Readers give it a "huge thumbs up" and say "it's more like a museum than a store." Filled with "strange and wonderful things you've never seen anywhere else," TKNY specializes in small, cool mainly Japanese design.
Beware, this is gadget central, but many of these things would be lovely little convo pieces in a tiny home. We particularly like the Solar Flower ($128) above (it glows when the sun goes down) and the Flip Flap solar plants that thrive without water ($32). Note: East Village store is closed for summer but reopening in Sept. MGR
