Turntable Lab is a bi-coastal online and brick and mortar store for those of us who appreciate yesterday's vinyl sound with today's digital solutions, stocking a wide range of DJ equipment, vinyl to digital solutions, laptop/computer accessories and of course, stacks of wax.
The best thing besides Turntable Lab LA's extensive selection of many of the same audio/tech goodies we post here on Unplggd is their selection of records and hosted events. We have Turntable Lab LA to thank for turning us onto Trackademicks. We recommend checking out their sales page regularly, for those of you who don't live in Los Angeles or New York (they also have a Tokyo outpost). We recommend dropping into shop for some tech tools, some new music, and then head over next door to Golden State for LA's best burger...never a bad way to spend an afternoon.
Turntable Lab was established in 1998 by Anthony Cattarina, Jasper Goggins, and Peter Hahn. The trio formed the idea for the Lab based on numerous negative experiences at stores that sold dj equipment: both big musical instrument chains and shady Canal Street stereo stores. Turned off by haggling, uninformed salesmen, and questionable product, Turntable Lab built its business on fair pricing, informed reviews, and a well researched selection of “Lab approved” items. Most of the Lab's employees are working djs / producers / musicians, which helps to ensure this high standard.
