Perfect for a kid's or teenager's room. Based in Brooklyn, Underground Signs makes replicas of NYC subway signs, they're officially licensed by the MTA, and they do custom work.

The signs are made from powder-coated aluminum and they come in the basic NYC black with white Helvetica lettering. (Quick history lesson — the MTA originally commissioned the signage from Italian designer Massimo Vignelli in the 1960s, and it pretty much remains the same standard today.)

Signage can be custom-lettered, so you can order your child's name in a range of standard sizes: 8 feet (96 x 12 inches), 5 feet (60 x 12 inches) or 12 inches (12 x 12). They have an Etsy shop where you can buy online. Prices start at $99.
