We've featured many Wee Gallery products in the past but they've added so many terrific items to their collection that it was high time we did a proper store review. Husband and wife team Dave and Surya are the artistic and business forces behind Wee Gallery and they haven't departed from their original aesthetic: high contrast, clean lines and full of charm. It's their point of view and they interpret it across their product range. Perhaps best known for their black-on-white animal art cards, there are now 9 different sets to choose from. The youngest babies will be entranced by them, toddlers will delight in using them as flashcards and older children can appreciate them displayed as art. These same animals grace Wee Gallery's other products including wall graphics, letterpressed prints, stamp sets, and greeting cards
Wee Gallery's newest product is a soft, fabric, accordion-style book with six of their signature animals. The books are handmade in India and come beautifully packaged in a fabric bag. There are a few other books in Wee Gallery's collection worth noting: a Bryant Park coloring book (a perfect memento after a NYC trip), a set of drawing books/journals and a board book, What Should We Call the Twins?
I had a chance to see all of these products on display at the most recent NY International Gift Fair as well as meet Surya herself. The care, attention and love she puts into her designs and their execution is evident and all that she and Dave pour into Wee Gallery comes out in their beautiful and thoughtful products.
