Wood World

Wood World

Over the weekend we made our first trip to Wood World. Finally ready to tackle some of the bigger projects looming at home, we browsed the maples, birches, walnuts, teaks, etc. and spent a ridiculously long time touching and looking (and comparing prices). With two cats running around the place aimlessly and several staff members around for assistance and advice, we made a few check marks on the price list for things to consider (walnut veneer plywood?). Another rather exciting aspect to the place was the large selection of solid pre-cut pieces. If you're doing something small and have a clear idea of what you need, this is a great way to go. (Showplace pics below:)

Around since 1977, Wood World is the prime Chicago spot for "selling hardwood lumber moulding and plywood to professionals and homeowners alike. We specialize in hard to find materials and custom millwork." Any reviews out there??
