Berlin, Germany and online
Bauhuas, Art Deco, Streamline, Mid-Century (and a little James Bond)
Gallery owner Uwe Moennikes stocks Zeitlos Berlin with some of the most pristine vintage furniture and accessories around. Many pieces are still in their collector quality original condition, while other pieces have been restored for everyday use.
Perusing the inventory of Zeitlos, whether in person or online, is like walking through a museum of 20th Century design. All of the big design eras are featured — from Bauhaus to Mid-Century Modern. And that is the precise goal of Uwe Moennikes and Zeitlos. While new furniture designs may give a nod to the designs of yesteryear, they still lack the craftsmanship, durability and beauty of the originals. Or, as the Zeitlos Who We Are page states:
People who love the originals and are aware of this lack (of style and elegance) have usually much higher standards. They know that the pinnacle of taste and style had already reached its peak some time ago. The sleekest car in the world, the most elegant interior decorations and all the breathtaking architecture was designed in the first half of the 20th century - between the worlds of Metropolis and James Bond.
