Marissa and Justin moved into their home two years ago, but never really figured out how to furnish their outdoor space. They use their deck and yard all the time, especially for entertaining, but Marissa doesn't feel like the camping chairs and odds and ends laying around (um, there seems to be a puppet??) make for a particularly inviting space. To show some of the many possible ways to make the most of a backyard, the Apartment Therapy team joined forces with Pier 1 to help Marissa and Justin turn their unfinished space into two beautiful and comfortable outdoor rooms, perfect for entertaining.
After last week's post about the return of the curio cabinet, I decided to do a little hunting for beautiful, minimal glass-front curio cabinets for displaying books and collections. The first two of these examples are by Scandinavian manufacturers, but there are plenty of choices from stores a little closer to home.
As a brunch lover and recovering restaurant-oholic, I can tell you that going out every weekend for breakfast certainly adds up. But good news: You can have toast and mimosas at home for a fraction of the cost (with friends!). It's an especially great way to get settled into newlywed life. And with these affordable registry finds, your home brunch will look just as great as going out.

Brushing your teeth. We all do it, some begrudgingly, some enthusiastically. If you're looking to elevate your brushing experience (and get a little more thorough) check out these three excellent electric toothbrushes.
Why Go Electric?
There's nothing wrong with brushing manually (as long as you're doing it two times a day and flossing) but research has shown that electric toothbrushes give you a slight leg up, hygiene-wise. According to Consumer Reports, "Compared with manual toothbrushes, electrics reduced dental plaque 21 percent more and gingivitis (i.e., inflammation of the gums) 11 percent more after three months of use." Many models come with special features that can prevent you from brushing too hard, help you make sure you're brushing for the correct amount of time and adjust to help you with trouble spots.
FOREO ISSA Electric Toothbrush
Dental Hygiene is a lot of things, but it's usually not sexy. Somehow, the Foreo Issa black has managed to change that. This silicone toothbrush is different in the best possible way. While expensive, it comes with a two year warranty and a ten year quality guarantee. So if you're looking to add a little sleek design to your morning routine, this might be the brush for you. See it at the FOREO website and also check out their mini versions for kids that are half the price.
Wallpaper's been making a bit of a comeback in the past few years, which has resulted in an explosion of new designs, many of which are breathtakingly beautiful. I've rounded up 11 of my favorites here. A few of them are quite pricey, but the good news is that with one of these on the walls, you won't have to worry much about the rest of the room — since no one will be able to look at anything else.
With so many weddings designed to reflect a couple's personal style, why is there still this outdated expectation that a registry needs to include formal china? Many couples today live in small spaces where they can't host huge parties or store a giant tureen. And people who are marrying later or for the second time are concerned with blending their stuff, not getting more. For you smart, stylish couples, here are five practical essentials you'll want in your real-life registry.
We thought our home was doing pretty well in the cleanliness department – until the season changed and a perfect shaft of light came through the window, bringing new illumination to what can only be termed as 'grime' (A line of salty boot scuffs in the entryway! Previously invisible soap scum from all our wintertime bubble baths!). Nothing highlights a winter's worth of mess like a little spring sunshine.
So we were excited to see lifestyle personality Jillian Harris showing off the many uses of one of our favorite secret weapons, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Seriously, this little guy can do anything, all over the house — watch Jillian show off its skills in the video above, then read on for tips on spring cleaning smart, not hard.
