Q: Last week, I moved into a new apartment that I just bought. After the gas utility inspector visited the apartment to turn on the gas line and almost gave us a ticket for having a broken range, I immediately set off to Home Depot to buy a new one. In a rush to find a replacement with no forethought about what color we wanted a gas range to be, my husband and I bought a white one. It is a high-quality, GE range, but I feel like I may have made a mistake going with white.
I know that stainless steel has better value when re-selling the apartment, but white was $100 cheaper and I honestly did feel while at Home Depot that I wanted to avoid the conventional stainless steel or black look and go with white, since much of my apartment has a white theme anyway. Did I make a mistake? Should I have gone with stainless steel or black? Please help me allay my anxieties.
