Q: Has anyone used the Mannington Adura Tiles in their home? We are thinking of installing them in our son's bedroom. They seem to be fairly new and so we are not sure if this is something we should try? We are needing to redo the floor and we want something hard so its easy to clean with kids and dogs. Rest of the house has wood floors but we can't afford that in son's bedroom because we're on budget.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I used Mannington tiles in a client's home (in two bathrooms), and I absolutely love them. They were installed about a year ago, and they still look fantastic. We also installed the Mannington "wood" plank vinyl in the rest of the home. It's beautiful also, but as far as durability, I prefer the tiles. I really can't imagine that you'd be disappointed with this product.
What's there to worry about it's a Vinyl floor. The are cheap and last forever. What's so new about this product? Hmmm, this seems more like subtle product placement than a real question.
I've used this product in clients' homes. One thing that's nice about it is that while it is a hard surface, it's not quite as cold underfoot as a real ceramic or porcelain tile. It's also not going to crack if something heavy is dropped on it the way ceramic could.
I would be worried that vinyl off-gasses, and has been linked to childhood asthma, among other things. I tend to try and keep vinyl products away from my son, and out of my house in general. I don't know how they compare in price, but what about Marmoleum click-lock or tile products?

Or cork? It's warm underfoot, not too hard, inexpensive, and easy to clean. You can also get it in tile or click-lock versions so you can install it yourselves if you're on a budget.
I'm in agreement w Zil -
There are other products on the market that are made from more natural "Ingredients" that are better for the Earth and your family.
Adura is a "luxury vinyl tile" that's softer and warmer underfoot than real tile, plus it's really easy to clean and super durable. As for environmental issues, it's FloorScore certified, which means it meets stringent indoor air quality standards. You can learn more about it here: http://www.mannington.com/Residential/Adura/Environmental%20Attributes.aspx
And feel free to contact Mannington at 1-800-356-6787 or care@mannington.com with any questions. Thank you!
My sister just used it in her kitchen. It looks great. I was very pleasantly surprised.
