When Joanna Harrison started digging for these gnarly before photos of her Silver Lake home, she also unearthed an ancient*Apartment Therapy house tour of the space in the process. Looking at the side-by-side photos of bettershelter's previous design and the Harrison's current digs proves there's always more than one way to successfully design a space, and when that happens, we'll always want to see it.

*By "ancient," we mean 7 years ago (which is like 700 in internet years).

Both homes share some mid-century modern elements, but Joanna's current design leans toward Bohemian and eclectic with muted tones, while bettershelter opted for more modern beachy vibes with pops of color.

Regardless of which design suits your style, it's safe to say we'd gladly live in either one. Hats off to Joanna and bettershelter for transforming this historic cottage into two gorgeous and livable spaces!
