It is hot, hot, hot! As an escape, let's imagine that we live in a culture where the daily siesta is a part of life. Take a look at these siesta-"scapes" for a little inspiration:

1 Old Calcutta in the shade under a wood lintel.
2 In The Siesta by John Frederick Lewis, look at the sheer drapes over screens: love the layering of shading devices that still let air through!
3 A hammock from Maxwell's trip last year to Chianti.
