There’s something about the switch from summer to fall that inspires a shift in thinking. Maybe it’s the temperatures dropping, or the leaves starting to change, or maybe it’s just that the kids are back in school, but September has always felt to me like a transitionary month. Like a fresh start in the middle of the calendar—where you can redefine your life and your home without waiting for January to come along.

So we’re going to harness that motivation this year! And use it to tackle what I believe is probably the most common problem I hear from people singling out what’s not working about their homes: I wish I was more organized.

We can’t ignore that an organized home looks different for everyone. But there are some universal qualities every tidy home has in common: Streamlined “stuff,” a few foolproof systems, and a fine-tuned understanding of the problem areas in your home. Throughout the month of September, we’re going to take on a series of one-day-at-a-time assignments that aim to make your home the lean, mean clutter-busting machine you’ve always wanted it to be.

The September Sweep is both a cure and a prevention—the tasks you’ll take on throughout the month will help you sort through the pain points in your current home, but also help to establish habits and structures that help you keep your space tidy and trim.

We’ll be sending out one straightforward, doable assignment each day. Together, one step at a time, we’ll get our decluttering done and our organization up to speed before October rolls around.

So sign up for the September Sweep now, and take the first step to creating a home that’s slimmer on stuff so you can fill it with love. The whole thing kicks off right after Labor Day on September 5th.

We hope you’ll join us! And, we’d love to know… Which spot in your home could use the most decluttering help right now?
