Name: Silas (due 11/8/10)
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Color Inspiration: I wanted to stay away from the typical baby blue boys room. Instead, i went with a modern color combo that brought in just the right amount of color and warmth. His room gets plenty of light, so using dark colors worked really well to make this room - with a 10 ft high ceiling - feel cozier. i split the room with the two colors to bring the scale of the room down. As for the decor, i am always drawn to both modern and vintage, so i wanted to infuse the feeling of both.
Tip for Using Color: Do not be afraid to use dark colors when there is ample light in a room... they can make the space even cozier.
Colors Used: i used Benjamin Moore's Bella Blue for the darker color. It had the perfect intensity with the gray undertones to keep it from being too bright. The top color is Glidden's Dusty Miller. It was the perfect gray with a hint of green in it. It took me a long time to pick the colors, but i think they make the perfect combo.
Thanks for your colorful entry Meghan and good luck!
