We've done quite a bit of travel this year in which we couldn't leave work and our "connection" behind. And each time we pack up the laptop and all that goes with it, we yearn for a more stylish, comfortable bag.
The one we've got kills the shoulder; it's heavy even when empty; it's boring to look at. We'd love to hear some suggestions from you all of good products to check out. In the meantime, we spotted these great, modern designs online from Silent Revolution. One caveat: the $246–$259 price tag.

Ouch on the price, but that is a really good-looking bag! I'm currently in the market for a laptop bag, but I'm thinking something small... my last bag was huge.
The price may seen high...but this is NOT made in China....I own one of these nicely crafted bags and it is definitely well made!
I'm also looking for a laptop bag. Crumpler apparently make good bags which aren't as expensive as these. I'm looking for a cute, well-made, fairtrade, not-super-expensive laptop bag. Is that combination possible? And in Sweden??
I have one big question: ergonomics? I have back problems and a lot of lower and middle back pain and have been searching for a bag that not only looks good, but is also ergonmically designed, to help prevent back pain. Does anyone have any recomendations? Thanks!
When I travel with my notebook computer (which is often), I use a backpack designed as a skate pack. No bag or shoulder strain... padded shoulder straps and evenly distributed weight, multiple compartments for various tech gadgets, padded laptop compartment, and enough room in the main compartment to paper store files. I have this one in the royal blue/brown camo pattern... http://www.shoes.com/product.asp?p=5045846&variant_id=EC1053573
A little "young"-looking. But what the heck, I'm young at heart...
Andrea here with Silent Revolution....First off, super huge thanks to Apt Therapy for showcasing our bags! It's so exciting when someone notices all of our hard work.
Next, even larger thanks to Susie B for pointing out that all of our bags are made by hand here in LA. We are very aware that our price point is higher than most, but all of the details you see on our bags are hand done by me - literally, with the final construction of the bag being done at a small local factory here in LA.
Manufacturing is a tough business - especially domestically. We try to balance out our political ethics with our business ethics - and it's hard to get the two to meet. As a matter of fact, it's looking very likely that our next round of bags will be made outside of the US. We work very hard to make a solid line of well designed, sculptural bags. But doing so in the US, while trying to keep the price point down, is becoming almost impossible. Ultimately, it's the price that sells the bag - not where it's made.
But thank you all for your interest and comments. We're working towards a more "cost-effective" bag in the future! We welcome your comments and suggestions!
