A Sensational Silver, Blue & White Palette for a Fashion Forward Kitchen

House Beautiful's 2012 Kitchen of the Year

A decidedly cool and shimmery, unmistakably glam palette defines House Beautiful's 2012 Kitchen of the Year. With a shiny mix of polished chrome, pearlized subway tile and an ultra-high gloss countertop in the butlers pantry, this is the antithesis of the warm and cuddly country kitchen, but is absolutely inviting in it's own fashionable way.

Designed by Mick De Giulio, the 1000 square foot space (on display in NYC's Rockefeller Center) is all about embracing an icy aesthetic with surfaces that are reflective, light and bright. It's a look well suited to kitchens, where the focus on steel and gleaming professional appliances has been a mainstay for a decade now.

The white-gold leaf finish on the subway tiles (by Ann Sacks) is gorgeous and unexpected - the killer touch in a dramatic space, especially in tandem with the bold blue sink (Jonathan Adler for Kohler, which you might remember from our sneak-peek ).
