These kitchen cabinets are such a refreshing change from stainless steel -- they're painted silver. And while we're pretty sure that the owner of this apartment doesn't have such concerns, what a great way to freshen up a kitchen without spending a bundle.

me likey.
Anyone know a *good* silver paint? All of the spray ones I've used rub off. Or is this from a can- and if so, what kind is it?
How'd they do that? I wonder what the cabinets were like before...We have cheapo fiberboard crap cabinets in our house. We wanted so badly to do stainless steel but wow is it $$$
Ralph Lauren Metallics work well, but require being sprayed rather than rolled and require substantial surface preparation...
...otherwise, it just becomes a blotchy mess.
I really love this. It looks clean and shiny, but doesn't have that overly-industrial look of stainless.
When I've used either Ralph Lauren or Modern Masters metallics, I've found that three different brush techniques work:
* either stipple it on with the end of the brush for a hammered look;
* or using a VERY tiny brush and do tiny brush strokes almost as if you're crossing tiny clocks from 10 to 3, 2 to 7, 12 to 6, 8 to 1, etc., so you end up with that galvanized bucket look;
* or use a very nice wide brush with VERY LONG strokes from one end to the other in a lengthwise fashion to get sort of a brushed sheet metal look.
That's the only ways I've made it work -- and none of those is a spray.
I really like the look of this!

wow. I love it. It would never work in my place, but it makes me pine away for the time when I finish re-furnishing and can move on to my kitchen update.

And it isn't a roller either.
That said, you obviously have FAR more patience than I in your painting techniques.
Durability is my concern. What will a 7 year old do to the lower cabinets?
I think I would need Real steel! Hey I do have real steel, case closed.
ooohhh! Love it!
love it, does anyone know about the material on the floor? thanks
Does anyone know what the floor is made of? Is it linoleum? I want to put a checkered tile floor inmy kitchen like this but I do not want grout to show. Help!
I trust Curtis infinitely....
wow... trying it
