Q: I love the look (and price) of the Restoration Hardware party globe light string. Unfortunately, they cannot be bought or shipped to Canada due to some Canadian electrical restrictions. Maybe the lead warning they come with?
I would love a string of lights like this in my backyard. Anyone have a suggestion for a similar light string available in Canada? Preferably lead free?

Target sells something similar. I don't know if they are lead free.
There are no Target stores in Canada (yet) and they don't ship to Canada. Sob.

hi - we bought the Target lights (in New York state)... and yeah, they also have lead paint, which we didn't realize til we were home. Installed them anyway, washed our hands and are still standing. Not sure about that new tremor, though.

i would get a friend in the US to get some at target they are like $12 there.... then mail to you.
I was at Target the other day and they were clearanced out at 75% off. While that price is great, good luck still finding them. There were only 4 boxes left.
Yup, I can confirm. I live in Vancouver. Bought 2 strings at Pottery Barn a few months ago. :)
You should find a proxy in the future- I have use a proxy service to buy several items available only in japan and it has been a win-win for both parties. They get to charge me $20 or so to go to the store and buy something, I get unique stuff not available in the US. Many of us would be willing to be a proxy for you, I'm sure!

Last summer there were strings of lights like this at Home Outfitters in Calgary. I wanted some but waited too long for the end of season sales & they were sold out by then, so shop early this spring!!!
