031009bikelock.jpgUnlocking our bike, we noticed the (only) key was getting pretty sticky, so we popped into a shop, where we faced $90 sticker shock.

Then we reprimanded ourselves. Why not try fixing it before we run out and just buy another one?

We can't believe we didn't think about trying to repair something first, we're so ingrained that we just throw something out and get a new one.

My mother wouldn't be so quick to replace something, so we heeded one of her secret weapons: WD-40. We figure with a little of that, the key won't get stuck so easily.

And we'll get another key made in case we loose this one. Final sticker price: $6.
