Completing a complicated DIY project can generate a sense of accomplishment but during the hectic holiday season sometimes all we have is two minutes to spare. Next time you need to whip together a last minute meal for an unexpected guest and want to do a little something quick and pretty for your table, try this two minute decor DIY by Melissa of The Inspired Room.
All you need are a few jars, tea light or votive candles and the magic ingredient: epsom salt.
For years and years I've used Epsom salt as glittery snow in my mason jars. I love it. I buy it at the grocery store and keep it on hand all season. Every once in awhile I refill my mason jars with fresh "snow" and a new candle. Can Christmas decorating get any easier than that?

And, if you grow roses, in early spring you can work the Epsom salt into the soil around the base of the plants to fertilize them.
Winter decor + spring utility!
love it!
Epsom salt is also great to put down in the hole for planting tomatoes in the spring.
This does look cute, but what they dont tell you is that when the wax melts, it drips all over and all the epsom salts stick to it (so you throw half of it out each time you go through a candle). Also because the wax melts all over, the candle burns out in less than half the time it normally would. Use tealights in the little foil cup and submerge them so they are level with the epsom salts or put your candle in a small glass candle holder inside the jar so it isn't a big, messy waste each time!
I found votives at Wal-Mart that do not drip or melt all over the place!
