I've been thinking about this family's story ever since my husband sent this video to me yesterday: Their sensibilities, honesty and desire for financial freedom and security are so inspiring that I believe each of us could learn something from their choices. While we try to Live with Less by constantly refining our belongings, I realize there is so much more we could be doing. A favorite part of the video...
...is when the homeowner, Debra, points out that by living and operating in a small space and kitchen, she is more efficient, especially when it comes to not wasting food. Oh my, I could be so much better at that!
Another favorite: The story goes on to explain that "Before having their son, Debra and her husband Gary had spent 9 years living in very tiny homes in South America. Living small hadn't felt like a sacrifice, but a way to stay focused on what is important. They decided they wanted to get back to that." While my husband and I do live in a home (and we have no plans to move), I can absolutely relate to her feelings of living simply for a more purposeful experience, one that allows you to focus on and support your passions.
