All our essential daily activities have dedicated spaces in our homes (kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, laundries) but when it comes to things we want to do—reading, writing or whatever it might be—we often have to find temporary space in other rooms, like the bedroom, the lounge room or the dining room table. Having a permanent, dedicated space for those things makes it that much easier to make time for the things you enjoy.
It doesn't have to be an entire room, just a nook, a chair or a corner of a room that you have set up intentionally for an activity that you enjoy and want to do regularly. Keep everything you need close by, just like you would your kitchen or laundry and you'll find yourself taking time to use and enjoy the space you created.
What kinds of spaces have you created for yourself?
