Michael Muller—guitar, piano and banjo player for the Austin based band Balmorhea—spends most of his days making beautiful music. But he also takes impressive photos of some of the simpler things in life. See a few of our favorites above and after the jump.
Showcased on his blog Threading in the Choirs, Michael's photos have an intimate and pleasingly simple quality to them. His music, as heard in the band Balmorhea, is also a peaceful, acoustic take on "sweeping eclectic post-rock." With influences of classical music throughout, Balmorhea plays what we might call "desert neuvo" when considering their roots in Texas but we'll leave the rest to the music critics (which we're obviously not!).
Michael is also a fan of green design and lives in a small two-bedroom home in Austin, Texas that he is renovating with in his own green style. Complete with old barn rafters, salvaged slate and granite, and other hand-picked oddities, we look forward to a home tour once he's done with the renovation.
