Of all our style categories, "Simple Chic" may be the most difficult to peg. It's defined almost by the negative space, the absence in an uncluttered room, rather than the things that are there. It's exactly those stylistic things, however, that can play a pivotal role in creating a calm, soothing atmosphere, something that's suited especially well for young child. These rooms run the gamut in terms of specific pieces included, but they are all, indisputably, simple and chic.

Lovely rooms! I did this with my nursery for one reason. As your child grows, their personality develops. What you may love for them may not be what they love or what becomes to represent them and their personality by their toddler years (when they have more of an opinion on their favourite colours, animals, etc). It's also a million times more soothing than and easier to clean that what happens to the toy box/section after oh say 5 years.
No offense but they all look like adult rooms, to me. They remind me of all of those high-end clothing boutiques selling black, gray & cream clothes for kids.To each their own but I figure my kids have plenty of time to be sophisticated in their adult years, their rooms (and clothes) are fun now.
a ladder in a kids room seems really dangerous.
I do love the diamond wallpaper!
Wow - one post with two hudson's bay company blankets!
All the rooms are beautifully designed. I like the huge world map that nearly covers one wall in Collin's Fresh White Room. The sofa in My Room: Abe is a very good idea. Nice place for mom and kid to spend quality time together. But I don’t like the human anatomy picture or the ladder in a child’s room.
