The Sitscape was designed to accomodate for up to 7 different resting position, its customizable contoured shape created by cutout laminated pieces of wood, pieced together through a steel and aluminum framework. A few more images below...

Doesn't look like it would be very comfortable without some serious cushioning inbetween our behinds and that sharp framework. More images and details about the Sitscape here.

Clearly more an art installation than a place to relax...
If they attached cushions around each individual piece of wood then it would still have the holes in between each piece but would be much more comfortable to sit or lie on.
this is a NOT in a Hot or Not context.
Oh dear, can you imagine the waffle marks?!
Cool idea, but ugly and uncomfortable! Wouldn't be some place I would rest my bum for long.
I would cover it with some fabric I think it would look cooler!
This kind of innovation that combines thoughtful design with aesthetic beauty really excites me. If only it was more comfortable I would buy it (I'm assuming that it's not super-comfortable).
@lightspeed : How is it a thoughtful design if its uncomfortable?
It looks painful.
If you look at the bottom potograph closely, you will notice that each person is using a large cusion.
I love the herringbone floors! I'd like to try sitting on that thing
