Seeing Art of Board's wall tiles from across the room, I was drawn to their random color. Only when I got closer could I see that they appeared to be recycled out of something. And they are! Skate boards as wall tiles … from half pipe to kitchen backsplash.
Art of Board created I Ride I Recycle, "the first-ever national, grassroots, skateboard deck recycling movement." By workign with skateshops and parks all over country, they are able to amass many, many skateboard decks, which are then turned into tiles - scrapes and all. The tiles can be applied with standard grout.

Never fit into my decor, but the idea is cool, and would be especially appropriate for a rec room. (This counts as "up-cycling" in my book!) (I wonder if anything can be done witht he curled bits??)
This is definitely a great way of using skateboard decks. Who would have thought that even these could be used as something so useful. Its totally awesommmeeee!
