Even for the less messy cooks among us, tile that reaches to ceiling has its draw. In larger kitchens, tiled walls create a focal point that's often hard to achieve in the ultra-functional space. And, the reflective surfaces can visually expand a space, adding some much needed depth in small dark kitchens too.
However, as much as I love the idea, I worry about the long term impact. Tile choices are among the trickiest to make because tiling is no small commitment. It's a choice that both you and future tenants will most likely have to live with.
Do you see it as an enduring trend or a waste of resources?
