One of the newest offerings from Design Within Reach is the Traversina Sleeper Sofa — a sofa bed of Danish origin designed by Flemming Busk and Stephan Hertzog. The sofa transforms into a bed that fits double sheets and it is available in 5 colors, including my favorite, the right-on-trend "plum" shown here.
The Traversina Sofa Bed is available in Ecru, Grey, Light Grey, Plum and Sand.

That horse picture gives me a headache.
at $3,200 i did not need to know about this.
hey midcentmod, at what price point should we let you know about things? just want to get that cleared up for the editors at AT...
This looked really familiar, so I did a little sleuthing...
The designers, Busk Hertzog, also do work for Danish company Softline (Softline.dk), available in Canada from the likes of Kit (kitinteriorobjects.com).
The Nevada they designed for Softline is similar to this. I'm considering it because the quality/comfort appears to be excellent for the price (ie. why buy several sleeper-sofas over a lifetime when I can save up and buy one, once?). The foam is solid/firm without being hard, and the modular units have that heavy/quality feel. The only downside I've seen is that they're not slip-covered for easy cleaning, but the quality of the fabric range looks pretty durable.
Hope this helps!
Reminds me of the Havana that I think they discontinued...same price point, too.
It reminds me of the Havana as well.
I bought my Chelsea sectional custom from Room & Board and with taxes, delivery a new lamp and a new glass table top, it was cheaper then this sofa bed. I think I made the right choice in these terrible troubled economic times.
The Havana is back!
Wow this is way overpriced. I bought something very similar for $600 a few years back. Check out your local futon store or try a google search for "sofa convertible" for a sofa bed with storage. Here is just one example of what is available: http://www.brookstone.com/convertible-sofa-bed.html?bkeid=compare|mercent|googlebase|search&mr:trackingCode=C739F426-EE8C-DE11-9EF7-0019B9C2BEFD&mr:referralID=NA.
PS Sometimes sofa convertibles are a bit lacking in padding. Luckily, a foam mattress pad (available for under $90 on overstocked.com) goes a long way.
It's a nice, sleek design, but really expensive, and I wish it came in better colours.
Does that first photo look like dollhouse furniture to anyone else? Something about the blurry horse photo plus the oversized woodgrain is doing weird things to my perception of perspective there.
hey twelveindustries, why would you take what i said so personally that you felt a need to comment on it sarcastically?
Hey, twelveindustries, wanna throw down? Seriously.

@Tiamat_the_Red -- Yes!! Thank you for pointing out the details that were making me confused.
I guess I am the only one that loved the horse art.
I have a folder here with a dozen examples of overscaled images of horses, in various media..I need to get on this trend before it becomes the new yellow.
cant see comments
Has anyone actually tried the Traversina? We love the design but that is a lot of money to spend without trying it out! Would love to hear what people think. Thanks
