Pale pink might not be the first color you think of when designing an adult bedroom. We think that maybe you should because pale pink can be so dramatic, sexy and certainly romantic. Pink shouldn't just be thought of as girly or childish because it can be really sophisticated and adult.
One look at the Pale Pink Bedroom from Katie Lydon Interiors and you can see how the color can perform in a say that is modern, sleek and chic. The dark wood bed and white bedding works fantastically with the super pale pink wall color. The masculine colors completely counterbalance the femininity of the pink.
More traditionally feminine, the mix of colors, textures and styles in the Romantic Laura Ashley Bedroom are still surprising in the best way possible. Pairing gold and pink certainly isn't a new discovery but it's not done very often of late and we think this is a great reminder of why we should be pairing the two.

White Enamel Flatwa...
I love it! I always wanted a pink bedroom as a little girl, and I never had one (sharing with 2, then 1 other sister, we'd always compromise with some blah color) and I've never gotten over it! Right how I'm living with a color I chose that turned out to be a little too peachy... I think I'll use this as inspiration to repaint my bedroom the perfect pink.
where is that beautiful bed from, in the first photo?
Wow. That first bedroom actually makes pink look good. And almost necessary even. I'm trying to imagine that first room in a different color, and I just can't. It's perfectly pink.
As for the rest...meh.
I'm not often a fan of pink, but the right pink with black and white is striking.
The 1st photo is stunning & not too girly (to me). The simple rustic bed and the gorgeous oversized art above really make the room fantastic. Maybe in my next life I'll be able to have Katie Lydon fix up my bedroom!
Wow, does that first room ever look good. If I showed THAT to my husband, maybe he'd reconsider...
Along with the bed, I wonder what is the brand and shade of pink of that first one?
The first bedroom illustrates your point very well - it's really nice. You should have stopped with the first one.
Pale pink is a great color - it makes everyone look good!
Heh. My parents' house had a guest room, decorated by the previous owners, we lovingly called "the pink room". Pink painted walls; hot pink shag carpet; flowery wallpaper on the ceiling that was white with pink flowers. Ugh!
I'm embarrassed to say how many years went before they re-did the room. (And actually, it was me that did the work.) That shag rug hid nice hardwood floors. If they'd only at least torn that out years before!
So, no. No pink rooms for me, ever... with that in my history, can you blame me?
Love pink!!! I keep meaning to repaint my bedroom... this may push me to do it!
Wow, I was just about to start painting my daughter's room today (sponge in hand) when this caught my eye. The shade of pink in the first picture is practically the same as the one she had chosen. I'm not usually a fan of pink, but that is a beautiful colour for a little girl's room.
With the exception of the first, they all look extraordinarily girly to me.
Yes, that first one strikes a great balance. The others have elements that I like, but the last one is just too precious for me.
I adore this room. That painting aboce the bed is gorgeous and just pops so wonderfully on the pale pink walls.
Much love,
B
i LOVE the 2nd photo! so romantical :) :) :)
these pale pink and dark wood furniture, remind me of cupcake... the first room is delicious! but, i love the last one!
A great way to add a hint of pink without having it become overpowering is painting the ceiling. The rest of the room can stay pale or neutral (creamy white would be my choice) and pink accents in a range of related tones would work.
Second to bepsf's comment - that pale pink is universally flattering, and reflects a lovely light on the people in the room. I remember reading somewhere that you should only ever paint your room colors you would wear, so that the light in your house always flatters!
I love the 2nd most of all! Yes, very girly, but I don't care! I've made an Evernote for it, and I will keep this in mind for the day when I get a guest room to decorate. Any guests who object are free to get a hotel room instead. ;)
I've done 3 pink bedrooms so far (1 for my daughter, and 2 for my husband & me), and find that either warm pinks, what I think of as a pink warmed by candlelight or unrepentantly hot fuschia (very popular in France over the past several years) are the most beautiful. I am a pink lover, but don't love any of those rooms (although I love the pink upholstered French bed).
The most beautiful pinks I've used are from Pratt & Lambert. I glazed the wall with 3 different pinks, all off the same shade card (hey, it was the early '90s, and it was a beautiful job!), topping it with a clear coat.
The shades were between 1006 and 1001; all of these colours are incredibly beautiful (and somewhat unusual).

I'm still trying to get past the migraine that was the hideous, ruffly pink and white bedroom I was forced to endure as a child. No surprise I became a minimalist in love with MCM at the age of 5.
Bepsf does have a point, though.
I NEED THAT ART ABOVE THE BED IN PIC 1!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE TO HAVE IT!!! WON'T SOMEBODY TELL ME WHERE TO FIND IT PLEASE????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The art reminds me of the work of Christopher Campbell. http://cbcampbell.com/portfolio/index.html
I seem to remember that according to feng shui, pale pink and peach are both considered very good for the bedroom. Very soothing. Oh btw: Save The Pink Bathrooms! tee hee
Forget everything else in these rooms... I'm LUSTING after that awesome Gaudi-esque room divider! (Behind the bed, in photo #2.)
The painting above the bed in picture 1 is by sigmar polke. Check your local museum.
for those not wanting pink pink - we painted our bedroom in Ben Moore Savory Cream - I thought it was going to be beigey - but it is every so slightly pink. A warm cozy pink beige that changes during the day. It's lovely.
My bedroom is almost the exact shade of the first photo. We used Benjamin Moore's "Orange Sherbet." My husband was skeptical at first, but now he agrees it's the perfect color for the room. It's looks especially beautiful in the dawn light.
I am absolutely dying to know what that bed is in the first photo. I'm looking for something exactly like that. Maybe BDDW?
museum?! *sobs*
The first bedroom is gorgeous. Its the perfect shade of pink and the rustic bed just fits the room.
Can you please inform me where you purchased the dark wood bed. It is exactly what I have been searching for!
