We were only half kidding when we told Lisa that she might not want to publicize her husband's carpentry skills lest she finds us all on her doorstep trying to steal him away! But seriously, what little (or big) girl wouldn't love a sleeping nook like this to to cozy up in for reading, thinking, playing and sleeping?
Josh framed their whole house so he definitely knows what he's doing. Click on over to Lisa's great blog, Pen & Ink to see this nook in the framing stages. In addition to the practical built-in shelves at each end you'll can see there's room for three large drawers under the bed which Lisa's uncle will be making in the future.
Bravo Josh and enjoy Madilyn!

Ok, that's awesome, and I'm jealous. Nice job. :)
that is awesome!!! i wish we could do something like that, my dad is a carpenter and could definitely make it happen- unfortunately the only wall something like that would work on in our home has a window and i wouldn't want to obstruct any of the light :(
That's so cute.
What a great job he did, I love it. We just created our own little reading nook for the twins, http://thecitycradle.com/reading-to-your-baby-corner-nook but since we are renters we could never hit up the construction like you did. Great job.
This is amazing. I love the simpleness of it. It looks like the perfect place to snuggle up with a book!

This is so cool! Definitely bookmarking it for when we are homeowners :)
Beautiful!!! Although that wall is begging for some art :)
