I believe that I've seen that Sonrisa flat file "coffee table" at the defunct LA men's clothing store K-Bond/LA (on Beverly Blvd--a site now occupied by Built). K-Bond used a few of those tables on their sales floor to display and store t-shirts, sweaters and accessories. It's a cool piece, but I don't think I'd use it as a coffee table.
IMHO, the "before" looks better.
anne - If you mean, the furniture falsies thing, I'm with you. Shabby Chic tends to feel too shabby to me, not so chic.
