Yeah, just what I want, a scale that would actually inform me by showing a picture of a pig. Remember, this would be the same even if the weight for pig is the correct weight that you should be for your height and bones. Not cool.

Why not take it all the way and just have a scale that calls you fat when you step on it?

If people are encouraged to turn this anger on themselves, won't more of it come out toward others? People who are larger in size than is societally "acceptable" already face enough discrimination. Who does this actually help?

Most forms of self-putdown end up projected outward as I understood my basic psych. course.

I would love to stand on it in the morning and be called a hippo, would definitely be better then hearing the tv on or it being over cast and raining.

To Cate, when someone internalises there anger, yes it can create a hostile projection onto other people, however, they have bigger problems then an inanimate object calling them a hippopotamus.

I really think that society is losing the meaning of context in the face of being pc.
There are many times where I laugh at derogatory gay jokes purely because there funny, yes they are making like of things and yes I have been offended by some jokes, however, I see them in context, the ones I found funny where intended not to cause harm but to make you laugh, the ones which are used as a weapon are not jokes but attempts to hurt an individual.

I'm with you, Ben. Sure it's not for some folks, but I think it's funny! And trust me when I tell you I'd be nearer the hippo than anything else. You have to have a sense of humor, even about serious things, SOME of the time. I do anyway, or I'd go nuts!

So funny, this reminds of a time a while back when my brother had gained some weight and he found out he weighed the same as a giant male panda. I think it's a cute idea, though I would miss knowing the actual number.
