White Enamel Flatwa...
It would have been nice if they had listed some low cost options. At the end of the day, I'm not going to pay 200 bux for a pot.
FWIW- I've seen some Le Creuset pots at TJ Maxx for much less than retail.
Nutterbuddy...they did, the Mario Batali one was $110. I'm sorry, you're not going to find an enameled cast iron dutch oven for much less than $100 unless you get it at a thrift store or inherit it. Sometimes you pay for quality. It is one of those things you buy once and have for life though.
There seems to be several brands on Amazon that go for under $100.00, and the reviews seem good. I recall my mother had one of those dutch ovens with the speckles all over- she bought it fairly cheaply. She used that until I was an adult- the only reason we don't still have it is because we lost all of our belongings.
I just wonder how much of this idea of paying for quality is really based on consumers' inability to recognize quality, regardless of price. I know I've bought some expensive junk in the past. I just wonder how much the price reflects the actual cost and profit to make the dutch oven and how much is tied to consumers' expectation of quality relative to cost.
