1. Sometimes more can be more, even when you're short on space. This room by BHG uses an eclectic mix of prints, patterns and textures, along with eclectic touches such as a Moroccan style lamp and a stack of worn suitcases to create a worldly, well-traveled feel.

3. Deep navy walls contrast with vibrant pink accessories and white accents for a color scheme that both defines the features of the space and adds a dose of glamor.

4. A large, plush fur throw adds a sense of decadence to the bed and a black and white print from a concert gives it a bit of edge. Touches such as the shapely decanter on the nightstand and the lattice print pillows round out the mix for a space that's dramatic despite its petite size.

What is normally considered as an small bedroom?
man, my bedroom is WAY smaller than the ones pictured (excluding no. 5, maybe). and it has no closets, so we've had to throw a wardrobe and two dressers into the mix. it would nice to see some even smaller bedrooms included here, so i can get some ideas as i'm not entirely happy with what we've got going on in there right now.
I loooooooove #7, but it's hardly a small bedroom! If I had room for a swing and a bookshelf in my room I'd be in heaven.
@ SUEMEY: dunno exactly but #7 ain't one of em
A small bedroom is definitely a design challenge. That said, I'm thinking it might be a blessing in disguise as it forces one to pare down to the bare necessities which results in a truly relaxing space, #5 being an excellent example.
I feel another project comin on...
These don't seem that small to me. I've been collecting pictures of truly tiny bedrooms lately. Here are some great ones from Apartment Therapy's own archives:

Although I would like a slightly larger bedroom (my bedroom fits a king size IKEA Malm bed with nightstands and nothing else), I see these huge bedrooms in magazines and just don't get the appeal. Perhaps it's just me, but I don't see myself lounging around on sofas or occasional chairs in a bedroom. If I'm going to lounge around like that, I'd rather just do so on the bed or in the living room. I am lucky to have a small walk in closet that stores all my clothes and alleviates the need for any dressers.
1, 8, 10 LOVE!
Maybe I'm just lucky. I have a large bedroom... about 13 by 16. It fits a full size bed, two night stands, two chairs an end table and four bookcases.
The large, but not walk in closet houses the dresser and a "hope chest".
But I'm moving soon, so I'll have to figure out a smaller room. And I must admit, these weren't all that helpful.
Yeah it's hard to see what constitutes a small bedroom from half a bed and a nightstand... But I sure liked 4, 6 and 7!
I adore #9. I have a 12x9 bedroom with a window literally smacked close to the coner of the room so it makes it hard to hang curtains. My bedroom has been the biggest challenge for me.
Moving into an apartment with a 7x12 master bedroom/office. Thanks, Eliz, for posting links to actually small bedrooms! Going to use curtains to "canopy" the bed so I can sleep while my husband is working late.
does anyone notice that #9 has two frames over the nightstand, but both the lamp and the vase are covering the pictures? What's the deal with that? Is this a faux pas?
those are normal sized bedrooms, not small ones.
I live in a small 3-bedroom home and I sleep in the smallest bedroom because it has the nicest morning light. Luckily I have a bed with drawers underneath or else I'd have to throw away my clothes.
Where the hell do these people put their clothes?
I second that. What is normally considered a small bedroom?
Yeah, #7 is definitely not small, unless maybe the bedroom is the entire apartment?
