1st Place Winner (tie): Jenny & Clove's LAish Pad
• Craig said: Another space that looks remarkably spacious and restful in spite of its small size. The low slung furniture makes the ceiling seem higher, and the repeated palette of pale blues and greens ties the space together nicely without overdoing it. The metal window and door frames left in their raw state (with peeling paint) add a nice counterpoint to what is otherwise a pretty sleek approach. The storage wall unit looks suspiciously uncluttered though--my guess is that the center section with the fabric scrim over it is LOADED.[Craig realized later that the bed is back there and recanted his final remark]

• Alec said: Well, I said that I’d be like to see a place that would “make me want to pack a small bag and move in”, and that is exactly what this space makes me want to do. That window and framed out kitchen had me at hello. Also, I like the feeling that the furniture gives off, both in its style and its user-friendly ability. I could see curling up on that couch and talking all night long. I could see getting a lot of work done at the beautiful desk/home office. I could imagine the space filled with friends, cooking and eating and having nothing but fun. I cannot believe how well they’ve achieved such space from so little. My bag is packed.
