Name: Michi Yanagishita
Company: Front Studio
Location: New York, NY
Favorite Weblink: Don't know that I have a favorite, but I do enjoy Bldgblog
Profession: Architect. Michi and her partner, Yen Ha, are the principals behind Front Studio, one of the only Asian-women owned architectural partnerships in NYC. We spotted their work early on in 2004, loved their aesthetic and have been tracking them since.

Best Use of Space:
After designing small bathrooms in NYC for years, I've always wondered why they don't make these slim toilets w. sinks and sinks here (above); they've been around for at least a few decades in Japan. And in looking for a photo, I found the slim sink (only protrudes 3 7/8" from the wall)!
Boy could I have used this in a few of my projects.

Where can you get that little 3.5" depth sink?! It's perfect for my UBER-tiny bathroom!
Another nice portrait.
Japan is known for its bathroom design from fixtures to layout. Many professional designers specialize in bathrooms.
frontstudio--beautiful work, lovely website. that toilet, above, would make sense for about 90 percent of washington dc apartments, too. wonder what the water usage is like.
