What is your one favorite element in your small, cool home? I love all of the windows. I have 8 big windows in all and I get the most wonderful light. I have an open floor plan with the kitchen, living room and dining area sharing one space. I also love the old wood floors. I made sure to keep the original floors and old claw foot tub when I remodeled I like the mix of modern and classic aesthetics.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your small home? When I moved in, there were no closets. Not even in the bedroom, so storage was a huge priority for me. I designed a double closet in the living room / kitchen area for coats and a washer and dryer and also put in two closets in the bedroom. I wanted to keep the nice square shapes of the rooms, and also add as much storage as possible. I put in a ton of cabinets in the kitchen which go all the way up to the ceiling to maximize my space.

the fridge is cool!
Is that aluminum door the fridge??? That is so cool!!
The phone, fridge and tub really set your style. Adding in all the more modern elements and colors while still preserving the vintage feel had to be a big challenge. You met that challenge and exceeded.
Sorry to echo the above comments, but WHERE did you find that fridge?! I love the sleekness of it and the smaller size plus the fact that you raised it up and recessed it into the wall. Brilliant!

Ooh it would be fun to put art on that wall in the living room.
I am so in love with your open kitchen, built in SMEG refrigerator and that sectional sofa with the table filling out the corner!!!
I want your couch. And your claw foot tub. And your fridge... Can I move in with you?
very cute!
Smeg!
OMG. I'll take the couch, the table behind it and the entire kitchen (with refrigerator!) to go, please. :-)
Love your place!
Lovin' the Smeg!
You have got to tell us what is up with that fridge. It looks like a portal into a spaceship!
where's the shower curtain from, and what color is the green in the kitchen? love the white, love the light!
love the kitchen! anyone have comments on the Smeg refridgerator? we are thinking of buying one and are getting conflicting reports on the quality. thanks!
the fridge is pretty awesome!
I want to move in! I love how you rock the retro, while still keeping it nice and fresh
Thanks guys!
the fridge is a SMEG and i love it. my contractor dreamed up the cool way of mounting in and then we put a drawer in below for extra storage.
I would recommend a smeg to anyone who likes the style. They are pricey but well worth it. The only downsides is the freezer is small, and you have to manually defrost it. but Those things don't bother me much.
The green paint is georgian green by Benjamin Moore. its an amazing color. it changes so much in different light. I love it.
The shower curtain is from Pottery Barn.
Katie Katie bo berry Banana nana fo ferry!
I lurve your place, thumbs up all the way! :)
love the super-green couch and wall...
What a cozy, lovely apartment. I love the country-looking kitchen! The bright green paint is a wonderful touch! And the bedroom looks so restful.
Love the green!
This was a fun job to do, katie stayed excited about the project the whole time, and it shows. Thanks for being fun and easy to work with, tell the world about us....
I liked the fridge until you said you have to manually defrost the freezer. I had one of those once---what a pain!
LOVE the couch. The walls around it look kind of empty, though. Have you thought about hanging anything there?
this is the best kitchen you will ever step in in your life. I've been fortunate enough to see it up close!
good luck katie!
