What is your one favorite element in your small, cool home? All of my furniture is second hand, either from family, thrift stores or craigslist. Even though the apartment is small it has a great layout and plenty of storage. The "separate" kitchen is what sold me.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your small home? Creating a space that is welcoming, spacious, and well designed. This was a challenge with such a small studio. I tried to create separate seating areas in the room so that i could have a variety of options and be able to have guests.

I had a very similar floorplan for a few years in the early 80's except the entrance was a sliding door at the end of the living space and my tub and toilet were separated from the lav. I never got around to making the place really mine. Always seem to wait until I am selling to do the fix ups.

You really have done a great job with such a small space... I love your tiny floating bookshelf! The only thing I think doesn't flow right with the rest is the bed... looks cozy but an awesome DIY headboard behind would look great, maybe even yellow, and maybe a new comforter... Props anyway since everything was second hand!
