What is your one favorite element in your small, cool home? The kitchen is small but we make it work. We are total foodies and love to cook. The oven is dual purpose convection and microwave. The dishwasher is a space saver with sink above. We swapped out the dishwashers original black panels with stainless steel to tie in with the other appliances.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your small home? Function & design are important to us. Living in such a small space storage is key, under bed boxes provides a huge amount of space. Ceiling hooks store our Dahon folding bicycles. Custom designed closets provide maximum storage. Because of the open layout everything is on display and pieces need to look good and balanced. Since our table ware is exposed for all to see, we went with Iittala & Arabia. Furniture is West Elm, Ikea and Crate & Barrel. The Saarinen tulip chair was purchased on Craigslist. The Cosy lamp designed by Harri Koskinen, was purchased in Finland and we changed the guts to US voltage standard.

I love the bathroom shot. :)
And your kitchen is super cute!
i'm so impressed that people live in studios with their beds 'out there' instead covering it with a curtain or screen et al....
where on earth did you get that shower curtain? It's gorgeous! I love how tidy your place is too.
that kitchen is hardcore! i am intrigued by the sink/dishwasher deal. how does that work? i've never seen such a thing!
Thanks for the great idea of the bookcase design for the computer. This will be great on my bedroom wall. How perfect; where did you get it?

wow, for only 375 square feet it gives such an open and spacious feel. and i LOVE your kitchen and eating area...the tile is beautiful! very nice work!
Wait... do I spy a kitty litter hider? Possibly an Ikea Hack? Tell me about the lattice-work chest near the door, por favor.
Hi it's Alec & Magda,
Thank you all for the nice comments. Dishwasher is a GE Spacemaker. The upper rack is smaller to accommodate the sink. Check out.

Also, the lattice work chest is from Ikea. It was sanded and stained and is home to our little vacuum cleaner. If we did have a kitty it would be in all the photos...
the kitchen is awesome
Hello darlings,

Go iittala & Arabia & Saarinen & Koskinen & all other great Finnish design!

Can you help me with my Yankee Stadium pied-à-terre?
What a great nest you have!
i wish i could hang my bike up like that, but then being height and strength challenged, i'm not sure if that storage solution is right for me.
It's a winner, apartment looks beautiful.
